TRANSFORMATION THROUGH JOY
by Stephanie Y. Rothman, CHT
Imagine, if you will, the idea that transformation never had to be painful
again. We have been taught, without our conscious agreement, that true
transformation or catharsis is usually painful. All those hours of sitting
in your therapist's office dredging up the minutest, most painful memories
of childhood; years and years of dredging and reliving, and guess
what? You still have problems. Oh yes, you are much more enlightened
about what might have caused your problems. But darn it, you still have
them! I'll borrow from that popular diet guru of the early 90's, Susan
Powter (remember she of short blond hair and loud booming voice) who
proclaimed: Stop The Insanity! Geez, haven't we had enough? Haven't we
run the gauntlet, cried those rivers of tears, processed until we were blue
in the face? Been there. Done that. Got the t-shirt. If you ask me, the
only purpose of suffering is to learn how not to do it!
I have a saying: No pain. No pain. Ah, that's an odd concept. You mean
we can actually change ourselves permanently without having an agonizing
catharsis? Yes! A resounding Yes! In fact, I propose that you can get
much better results through Joy. A basic fact of life is that God wants
you to be happy. And if it took all these years of suffering to get to
Joy, well then so be it. That was your lesson. That was your path. So
what. Next! What's next for you? Those of us with a more metaphysical
spin on life recognize that everything is energy, and that a high vibration
is the cornerstone of manifestation. When we are in vibrational
compatibility with the situations and circumstances that we desire for our
lives, those things can not be kept from us. They fall into our lives,
easily and effortlessly. And, oh yes, by the way: non-serving belief #2034
is "If it's not hard work, then it's not worth having." Pish
tosh. Nonsense. I say if it comes easily than it was meant to be. I say
that if the shoe fits, it will slip on very easily, and you will find it in
the first store you come to. Serving Belief #1: "If the belief doesn't
serve you, fire it! And if the belief serves you well, promote it."
Okay, great. I like it, I like it, you say. Now how do I go about
creating this state of Joy? There are three parts to Transformation
Through Joy (TTJ). The first is what I call Belief Trolling. This means
that you constantly pay attention to every belief that you think or
speak. You can easily cancel and replace any non-serving belief with a
serving one simply by stating your intention to do so. Of course, there
are other ways to go about doing this, and I will be happy to share them in
another article.
The second part of TTJ is the process itself. Quite
simply, it is the process of amping your
vibration through visualization and breath. This is a very, very
specialized breath. And it's really fun, too! Allowing your mouth to hang
open you would take a rolling breath beginning in your diaphragm and ending
all the way in your throat and then without holding the breath at all,
release the breath in a very dramatic sigh of pleasure (as if what just
happened for you was an almost orgasmic experience - AHHHH)! The more of
these breaths you take in a row, the better you will feel. And of course,
we all know how great breathing on purpose is for your mind, body, soul,
and spirit. The other thing the breath does is amplify your
vibration! You can choose to access memories of joyful times, or you can
simply stay in the moment of your Joyful feeling which you created through
the breath and then you visualize yourself having achieved your results in
as many senses as you can always seeing yourself in your own body. Be as
creative as you can, and as detailed, and don't forget to smile! Yes,
literally smile while you are doing the TTJ process. Smiling enhances your
vibration, as well as anchoring your Joyful experience. You will witness
the Universe beginning to offer you gifts. Gifts that you've
created. Look for signs and miracles.
Which brings us to the last part
of the TTJ process: Paying attention! It is really sad to say that we
have been trained to remember intense difficulties and painful situations
rather than remembering our Joy-filled moments. I want you to seek out and
pay very close attention to the goodies in life. All of those things that
bring you Joy and seem to be miracles relating to your Desired
Outcome. Write them down. Anchor them in the moment you are experiencing
them with a key word or phrase. Be still. Be present to your miracles and
you will begin to see more and more of them. Don't be surprised. Just be
grateful. And very, very Joyful.
