SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
30 years of industrial experience with optical materials and technologies, vacuum coatings
deposition, ion-beam and plasma technologies. My experience and knowledge include but not
limited:
- conventional optical coating technologies (electron-beam and resistive evaporation), equipment maintenance and repair;
- DC magnetron sputtering systems with ion assistance; ion and plasma beam technologies;
- ion beam milling (super-finishing) of high quality big dimensional optical surfaces;
- special tooling, equipment and processes design, development and documenting;
- research of ion and plasma beams interaction with optical materials;
- vacuum equipment, ion sources and DC magnetrons design, maintenance and repair;
- vacuum systems calculation and design;
- coating production organization and management;
- optical quality control, QC department organization and management;
- manuals, SOPs, technical instructions writing;
- project management principles;
- personnel training and consulting;
- computer, including HTML 4.0, JavaScript, Visual Basic 6.0 (learn now), QuickField, Multilayer (Russian thin film software) and other general and special software.
My most important developments and achievements are the following:
- ion beam milling of precise optical surfaces including equipment, process mathematical model, technology;
- screen filters protective coatings Silver Shield®, Golden Shield®, and Platinum Shield® for computer monitors - design and production;
- decorative color coatings for architectural glasses - design and production;
- technology of ITO transparent coatings with resistance less than 20 Ohm/sq;
- project of magnetron sputtering system for in-line optical coatings deposition;

I can work as single as in team but prefer teamwork. I have organization skills, the
ability to work without supervision and a flexibility to work overtime.
I have about 30 publications including patents, technical reports, and messages at
the science-technical conferences in USSR, Russia. I have been awarded the Medal of the USSR
Exhibition of National Economy Achievements in 1982. SPIE and AVS member.
EMPLOYMENT
- 2002 - p/t MESH+. Moscow, Russia. Manager.
Project " The machine for optical coatings deposition by magnetron sputtering"
development. Presentation of coating equipment on market.
- 1998 - 2001 Reynard Corporation, San Clemente, CA USA, technical design engineer.
Fulfilled the duties of QC manager and operating manager. Optical coatings - mirrors,
AR, beamsplitters, etc. Resistive and electron bean evaporation. Production of linear variable
ND filters for telecommunications. Developed and designed special tooling for coating chambers;
coating chambers maintenance and repair; developed technology of ITO coating deposition;
developed IAD technology and equipment; organized Quality Control Department and trained
personnel; wrote Quality Control and coating processes Standard Operating Procedures and
equipment Manuals; calculated the pumping system for a big volume vacuum chamber; specified,
procured, and installed state- of-the art polishing equipment, ion source power supply,
reactive gas controllers from Russia including contracts management and import license.
Supervised 3 - 5 technicians; reported directly to President and CEO.
- 1994 - 1998 "Russian Shield", Moscow, Russia. Head of coating department.
Was responsible for production of PC monitors screen filters and coated architectural
glasses and plastics. Developed multilayer metal-dielectric coatings for screen filters and
architectural glasses. Developed, designed and manufactured ion beam sources and DC
magnetrons. Projected a brand new coating chamber with three magnetron sputtering systems,
ion sources, quartz crystal and optical monitoring of deposition, then organized and
controlled manufacturing of two chambers, installation and start-up. These chambers usage
provided 20 times increasing of production. Developed and organized two new coating
departments including construction works, power, water, and compressed air communications
design and construction, equipment installation and start-up works. Developed production
process from raw glass to shipping including documentation (manuals, instructions, SOPs).
Supervised two shifts 15 - 20 employees including two engineers and designer. Reported
directly to President.
- 1993 - 1994 MBL Security Systems, Moscow, Russia, Head of manufacturing.
Projected automotive security system assembling department.
- 1991 - 1993 Russian Research Center "Kurchatov Institute", Hydrogen Energy
and Plasma Technology Institute, Moscow, Russia. Mainspecialist, head of vacuum coating
department.
Developed and organized vacuum coating department including construction works.
Specified, procured and installed vacuum chambers with electron-beam and resistive evaporating
systems and magnetron sputtering systems. Developed Quality Control working places.
Supervised 2 technicians and contract workers.
- 1977 - 1991 Central Design Bureau of Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant, Krasnogorsk,
Moscow Region, Russia. Leading engineer of vacuum coating department, manager of ion-beam
technology group.
R&D of ITO coating manufacturing. R&D of ion beam milling of large optical surfaces.
Developed a mathematical model of ion beam milling, method of ion beam formalization, method
of materials sputtering parameters measuring (patented)., method of process monitoring
in-situ (patented). Designed the ion beam milling equipment. Developed a technological process
of ion beam milling. Projected the automatic ion beam milling process (patented). Organized
manufacturing of high precise optical surfaces and coatings with usage of ion beam
technologies. Designed and produced about 20 technological ion beam sources. Created technical
Manuals, Instructions, SOPs. Supervised 3 - 5 employees including 2 - 3 engineers.

Research of interaction of high power CO2 laser radiation with optical materials.
