When I first learned ceramics, wheel-throwing was the dominant practice. This rigorous training was invaluable. Even now my
sculptural approach can be described as slow-motion throwing. I studied vessels with Lewis Krevolin at Dutchess Community
College, Byron Temple at Pratt Institute, and Cleo Ferguson at Karamu House. As a San Francisco State University undergraduate,
I learned from Joe Hawley, Bud McGee and David Kuraoka. Currently I teach wheel-based forming as well as ceramic sculpture.
Throwing remains a profound delight which I will never give up.
