Newfield, NY June 26,2009 - Newfield Central School held their 113th annual graduation commencement 7PM Friday evening, for the Class of 2009. The high school gymnasium was packed with the family and friends of the 66 graduating seniors. A reception was held in the high school dining area following the ceremonies.

Ms. Sue France, Principal, awarded diplomas along with Mr. William Hurley, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr.Rick Pawlewicz, high school counselor.The seniors selected Mrs. Betty Powell , of the English Department, to give the address. According to her, it was a get even ploy for all those essays assigned over the years.

The saludatory address was given by Gerra Goff and the class valedictorian was Amanda Doucett.

There was raquet ball, pool raft racing,drunken trike races

and more food than an army could have eaten.

A special thank you goes out to all the parents

and others who worked so hard all year

to make this a night to remember.

Following graduation, buses took participating seniors on a ride to the secret location of their after party, the Ithaca YMCA, where a night of fun, food, games and prize had been arranged .
