| It was up at "O dark hundred" and out the gates of McCurdy at 5 AM. Clean-up was done, bags packed and loaded in the van and truck on Friday evening. The goal: to reach Albuquerque in time to see the lift off of the Hot Air Balloon Festival. By 6:30 we were at the exit to the parking, but the traffic was backed up about 2 to 3 miles in each direction. We decided to go to a different location. After a couple of attempts to find a good viewing spot, we came to a vacant lot not surrounded by tall buildings. Here is some of what we saw. | |

| The next major stop was the airport, where everyone had a chance to relax before taking the flight back to Columbus. Some of us looked like this! | |

| Don and Jane Pearson met us at the airport and brought us back to CUMC at 11:15. It was a LOOONG day and we give thanks that we came home safely and that the trip went so well. | |
