There are 2 teams working at McCurdy this week. 14 people from CUMC and 15 from a small church in Indiana. Breakfast was followed by a picture taking session of both work teams. We look pretty good wearing the team t-shirts designed and silk screened by Linda Catrone with the help of Janice Daniels and Carol Berndsen.

Following a short tour of the campus, everyone attended a project meeting . Jerry Dryden and Jerry Murphy designed and secured most of the materials for 3 major projects: a small table top aviary, and planter shaped like a cross with the contents at an angle, and a small tool shed for the gardening supplies. These are all projects for the Science class. (More on projects as the week goes on.)

Everyone else participated in a variety of tasks from office work (data input), classroom assistance, and grounds clean-up to scrapping paint on window trim and screens. Perhaps the most dramatic task was demolishing a building . This took a number of men, a truck, and a chain placed in strategic positions. Not an easy task!

Last weekend was homecoming (the home team Bobcats won) and this afternoon was a volleyball game. Several members of the team attended the game and Oleta Bruner and Nancy Dryden ran the concession stand.

It was a day of hard mental and physical work, and a day where much progress was made.
After dinner and devotions, we tried to rest up for another busy day tomorrow.
