The Christian Heirs Trio

The Christian Heirs Trio sprang from a weekly nursing home ministry near the Houston, Texas area in December 2002. They sing Traditional Gospel and enjoy a variety of Christian music. Their first project, In The Beginning… , was out in April, 2003.  Since then, they have released two more projects: Glory, and Journey.  (Check the Projects Page for more on these.)

The group is comprised of: Dennis Cobb, lead singer/spokesman; Robert Williams, baritone; and Kevin McDaniel, tenor.

The Christian Heirs Trio is based South of Houston and has sung concerts over a large part of Texas as well as out of state. Their blended style wins favor with all ages from the very young to those of us who have been around awhile longer …

The have performed and ministered at retirement communities, rest homes, churches, civic organizations, city parks and municipalities, fraternal organizations, RV parks and restaurants. They have even been found in WallMart parking lots!

The Christian Heirs Trio are dedicated to singing the Gospel, are willing to go wherever their music can bring joy and believe in laughing, smiling, sharing and enjoying the gift of life and song with all.

Dennis Cobb began his singing ministry, like so many others, in his local church. But one day he told his wife Donna, that he thought the Lord was calling him to sing in nursing homes. Obviously, the Lord was working, because shortly after that a member of his church approached him and asked if he could fill in at a rest home where she was scheduled to sing. He’s been singing in this ministry ever since. After joining a local gospel music association, B.A.G.M.A., he began singing solo at other functions and churches in the area.

Dennis serves as a deacon at the Texas Avenue Baptist Church in League City, Texas, and sings for the Lord first and foremost. He believes the group was brought together by the Holy Spirit and is founded in the Gospel, which he hopes to spread through music and witness.

Robert Williams is a native Houstonian. Although his grandmother was strong in the faith and took him to Sunday school and church as a young child, he wasn’t saved until the age of 25. He began his walk with the Lord at First Baptist Church of Friendswood, Texas, where he soon joined the choir in the bass section. After nearly 25 years, someone gave him an accompaniment tape of a Southern Gospel song. He was hooked and soon bought more, rehearsing them on his 45-minute commute to work every day.

Robert, along with 2 of his daughters, then joined a mixed quartet, called One Accord. In 1995, he joined the Master’s Vessels as baritone. Also, he began singing solo in the prison ministry of LynneSong Ministries as part of The Master Key. After the Master’s Vessels broke up in 2000, Robert began solo programs at rest homes and continued his connection with LynneSong. In addition, he began and continues singing duets at senior events with Lisa Price of First Baptist Friendswood under the name "Praise Worthy".

Mr. Williams met Dennis and Kevin through the B.A.G.M.A. organization and then began ministering with them at nursing homes. He believes there is no greater fulfillment than seeing a song, or a phrase in a Gospel song, be used by the Holy Spirit to change sorrow to joy in someone’s life. He feels that that’s what the Christian Heirs Trio is all about.

Kevin McDaniel was raised in a Christian minister’s home. His parents, Don and Beverly, traveled extensively in Kansas and neighboring states bringing the love of Jesus through word and song. He joined the church choir as a teenager where he soon developed an ear for harmony.

His love for gospel music grew from his admiration of Larnelle Harris and the Gaither Vocal Band. The group’s smooth harmonies and Larnelle’s high, rich solos planted the seed in his heart.

Kevin began his group-singing ministry in the early nineties when he sang a few engagements with the mixed trio, The Hoxworths. He later became the tenor and sang a little baritone for a men’s quartet, Called Out. When the group dissolved in the late nineties he sang solo until he was invited to sing with the group Wings of Gold.

Now, with the formation of the Christian Heirs Trio, Kevin believes that God will further use this new ministry to build a bridge for others to come to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ.
