Photography is as important to the start of a project for me as sketching out the design of a website or drawing roughs to plan for an illustration, besides just being an art form by itself that I like to create. I take my camera anywhere, never knowing what I might find, from a curious furry friend of mine, to a ghetto-ized Volvo station wagon, or antique doorknockers in my family's cabin, to a lightning storm on the shores of Lake Michigan.
My photography portfolio on the next four pages shows a wide range of black-and-white photographs, color photos, and the techniques I use for special effects: timed exposures for nighttime and indoor images in low light conditions, and the use of filters to eliminate glare and fog and to add contrast & saturation. Much of my black-and-white photography I developed and printed myself on fiber-based archival paper, when I had access to my college's darkroom labs; the rest of my black-and-white work, as well as my color photography, was developed and then either printed or engraved onto PhotoCDs by a local service bureau.
This gallery will grow in size as I add more photographs to my portfolio. I will keep updating this page with the best out of each roll I shoot.
