I'm shocked at how often I use this Bible reference tool. Most often, it's when people say some long involved thing and then say, "...and THAT'S in the Bible!"
It usually isn't. It's usually either Shakespeare, Gibran or Danielle Steele. But when I'm not certain, I just use this site.
My favorite, by the way, was a woman who said cheerfully to me, "Just remember, like the Bible says, 'Tomorrow is another
day!' "
That was in "Gone With The Wind" and it's a fine read but it's not the Holy Bible for cryin out loud. Clearly
more people needed to be in my Sunday School class.
I have spent hours on Google Earth, an often dizzying experience (I once was trying to find my house....in Kenya. It looked a lot like where I live,
that's all I have to say about that).
Along with that land tank on Amazon.com, I want this funky clock. I can actually tell time on it! Can you? Figure it out, it's not that hard.
Here's a little something that's handy for writing ransom notes or cheating at Scrabble. Not that I'd know! I don't cheat at Scrabble!
This one is an absolute cheat; people who play online often use it. It's cheating to the nth degree, I can tell when someone is using a cheat like this.
And that's why I no longer play online.
We Kansans have heard it all. We get asked about Dorothy and
Oz, we get asked if we've seen a tornado, we get asked about Fred Phelps (we pretend we have no idea who that is) and we do
happen to have pride in this state.
This website is run by a gentleman who teaches teenagers (and he seems sane, can you believe it?) and also treasures both Kansas history
and Kansas as it is.
