CAMPAIGN
2010 REACHES GOAL
We did it! Donations to Campaign
2010 have reached our goal of $2,010, equaling an amount donated by our Board
of Directors. The funds will be used for materials and labor costs associated
with building out the chamber at Chevalier Theatre that will house the
Chevalier Mighty Wurlitzer. Cost estimates are being prepared for lumber needed
for the chamber and for a possible separate blower room outside the chamber. In
addition, about three dozen metal pipes have been shipped to expert pipe
builder Tom Anderson of North Easton, Mass., for repair over the winter.

EVENTS AT E.M.C.A.T.O.S
Ken Double,
national president of the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS), will be
performing two concerts in the area on Nov. 21 (at Babson College in Wellesley)
and Nov. 22 (at Shanklin Music Center in Groton).
Ken is quite an
entertainer, and it will be nice to show our support of his concert in advance
of the national ATOS convention that is coming to Providence/Boston in July
2011.
More details and
a link to directions and ticket information are below.
Thanks,
- Ken Krause
President,
Chevalier Theatre Organ Society
-
Not only
is Ken Double the national president of the American Theatre Organ Society, but
he is a gifted theatre organist, vocalist, and just a great all-around
entertainer! You will get a kick out of Ken's Double Bill show as he serenades
you on the Wurlitzer and sings some of your favorites.
For more than 30 years, Ken has been on radio
and TV as a sportscaster, and since 1978, has been at the console of the great
theatre pipe organs, indeed working hard to entertain his audiences.
During his concert career, Ken has performed all
over the world, including stops in Seattle, Wilmington (DE), Tampa, Chicago,
Los Angeles, the famous Casa Loma in Toronto, and three six-week tours
throughout Australia. In addition to his hundreds of concerts, he has
nine CD's to his credit, including Double Southern Comfort - A Musical Toast to
the South, played on the Reddish Residence Walker RTO 335, and his ninth
disc, Christmas at the Nethercutt Museum on the 4/76 Wurlitzer, just in time
for the holiday season. He has just completed his 10th recording entitled The
Music of Casa Loma, the first-ever CD and first release in more than 30 years
on the great Wurlitzer in the Great Hall of Toronto's historic castle.
Sportscaster, master of ceremonies, theatre
organist, even vocalist upon occasion, Ken Double indeed works hard at making
it look easy when entertaining at the theatre pipe organ.
