How we all got here...

On this page I'll describe our family's roots. I might include our family's immigration records or anything I know about the origins of the family name.

I might also add a picture of the family crest or other pictures that help set the historical context for our family's background.

SURNAME LISTINGS

I do not plan to present a list of surnames from my data base -- it is far too many to burden this little web site that I get as a free benefit for using Earthlink as my ISP. If we must do this some day, I suppose we could rent some more memory for such as presenting these huge listings. Actually, I wanted to communicate with my readers with a more friendly, customized look and feel.

ISOLATED FAMILIES
Here I plan to list some of the "Isolated" families I've found while doing research. An isolated family is one which has two or more generations, usually a significant number of descendants, but does not connect to any of the major branches. For example, my g-g-g-grandfather, Jacob Cherry [15219] and his wife Sarah is the head of an "Isolated" family because we have not yet identified and proven his parents and their connection to the major branch of Norfolk Co., Virginia Cherrys descended from John Cherry, Sr [35].

We have quite a large number of these isolated families in the data base.

I may include a map of our family's place of origin in this area.
