Our first information came in from Paul Chirlin and can be found here. (It includes some general information of great interest.) Later he supplied a fuller family tree, given below. Prior to immigration the name may have been closer to Tsirlin.

Also of interest is the record of Uria Serlin, of Druja (Disna uyezd, Vilnius gubernia) in the 1850 census. Father Zalman. Possibly an ancestor of this line, though cyrillic Serlin does not seem to match cyrillic Tsirlin well (unless Lithuanian conventions played a role).
