House Repairs



Lesson Goals Students will

Scenario     You are living in downtown Mexico City, and need to replace a faucet in your kitchen and add a small water heater for the house. You decide to use the Internet to find a store close to home that provides what you need to do the repairs, as well as credit options and how-to help.

    Also, your non Spanish speaking wife/husband wants to know about your plans, but he/she is visiting in the US with his/her parents. You will send him/her an e-mail commenting on your plans and all the information you gathered.

    Your spouse will probably have some comments and suggestions when he/she reads your plans. Do what he/she wants before you go ahead with your plans.
 



Instructions a. Read carefully the "Scenario" to get all the information you need to the following tasks.
b. Read the following tasks and gather the information required.
c. After accessing the sites listed under "Resources", write the message suggested under "Presentation".
d. Wait for "your spouse's" response and do what he/she will request you to do.


Tasks Go to these business sites and: a.    Determine which of the following links is appropriate for your needs (carries the products you need)
b.    Determine if the section “Hagalo Usted Mismo” is useful to your needs
c.    Determine if signing up for a “Tarjeta Cliente” will give you any benefits (discounts on the products you need for your work)
d.    Determine which of the stores is closer to where you live.
