Welcome to Varsity Conformation, the SweetCheeks Kennels' web site devoted primarily to people involved in raising and showing purebred dogs. Make no mistake, pet owners are welcome also, and hopefully some of the material in these pages will be useful to people who simply want to know more about their purebred dogs.
There is no charge to access the information at this site, it is totally free to you, the audience. Now, it is a dream of ours to one day make a living in a business related to the dog fancy, so there are commercial aspects to this site. Groomers, handlers, pet-sitters, etc. are invited to advertise their products and services. Also, in the future we plan to offer screen-savers, health records software and other computer and non-computer related products that may be useful to dog fanciers and pet owners. These commercial areas will be clearly marked with $'s and you can avoid them if you wish. Access is free, but you will find merchandise and services for sale at any site marked with $.
One thing you may notice is that we are going light on graphics and pretty pictures. This is intentional. Since most of you will be accessing the site with a 9600 or 14,400 bps modem, graphics would make your visit to these pages unbearably SLOW. We have decided that our primary goal is o provide information to the dog fancy community, and to encourage that community to make repeat visits on a regular basis. Pages that take 5 minutes to appear will not encourage that kind of repeat activity.
This is a visual medium, so we will have some great illustrations courtesy of my mother-in-law, but we don't want to slow things down too much.
