Nicki S. Cohen is a board-certified music therapist,
a Fellow in Good Standing of the Association for Music and Imagery,
and a Bonny Method practitioner and supervisor.
She is available for music therapy and Bonny Method sessions, supervisions,
and workshops.
She received her Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Kansas, a Master of Arts in Vocal Performance from the University
of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Duquesne University.
Nicki Cohen is Professor of Music Therapy and Voice at Texas Woman's University* in Denton, Texas. She is on the faculty of
the Anna Maria College Institute for Music and Imagery. Nicki is Past President of the Association for Music and Imagery and
currently on the editorial board of the "Journal of the Association for Music and Imagery." She is a member of the Education
and Training Advisory Board for the American Music Therapy Association. Her clinical practice, Guided Imagery and Music Therapy
Services, features music therapy and music and imagery techniques designed to fit both the clinical needs of her clients and
the regulatory stipulations in the state of Texas.
Nicki has published articles in the Journal of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, the Journal of the Association
for Music and Imagery; has written chapters for several music therapy and Bonny Method texts; and is currently writing an
introductory music therapy textbook for Prentice Hall Publishers.
She is a regular presenter on topics related to music
therapy and to the Bonny Method.
Nicki loves to teach, to sing, to experience beautiful music, to drink tea, to
grow African Violets, and to watch her students laugh.
