NASA commissioned RetroRocket to make several runs of these 1/12 scale models. Each run was made a little differently: early models were supported above a clear acrylic block, with no nameplate, on a slender medal rod. The early versions also had moving wings. The photo shows the final version with its fixed wings and sophisticated stand. The "Hyper-X" (the program under which the X-43A was developed) medallion could be swapped out for a USAF medallion--note the stylized "wings" engraved in the base echoing the USAF logo. Fuselage length is 12 inches. Micro Craft manufactured its own separate desktop model.
