This is my first tutorial so please be patient. I've always wanted to write one but knew it was alot of work. So I picked something easy...:-)
Well let's get started!!
I have included a zip file. You can download it here. It contains: 2 Hearts (Put in PSP Selection folder)
1 Country Patch (Put in PSP image folder) 1 Font (Put in Windows/Font folder)
Open a new image 300 x 300 transparent background.
Add a new layer
Go to Selections.....Load from disk.....and choose 'CountryHeart1'.
Open the 'Countrybg1' jpg image and using your Flood Fill Tool.....Pattern....Flood Fill your heart.
Now go to Image.....Effects....Inner Bevel and use the following settings.
Deselect. Add a new layer.
Go to Selections.....Load from disk....choose 'CountryHeart2'.
Pick a cream color. I used #EEE5E4. Flood fill this heart. Deselect.
Add a new layer. Choose a color for the stitching. I used #8D7072.
Using the Draw Tool...Single line OR Freehand line.....stroked....width 2....antialias checked....draw little stitches around the cream heart. They don't have to be perfect...stitches rarely are. :-) See below for sample.
Add new layer
Using Text Tool....click on your image and use the 'Home Sweet Home' font.....Size 24 OR 26....Floating....antialias checked Color #434853.
Type "HOME" and move it to the top center of your heart. While selected add a drop shadow. Color black....Opacity 20....Blur 6.2.....V and H 1.
Add new layer. Type "SWEET". Move it in place and add a drop shadow.
Add new layer. Type "HOME". Move that in place and again add a drop shadow.
I thought the cream heart looked a little boring so I added a texture to it. You can do this by highlighting Layer 2 in the Layer Palette.....Selections....Select all.....Float.....apply a texture and then deselect.
Go to layers and Merge visible.
Almost done.....WHEW!!
Move plaque to the bottom of the window and add a new layer.
Change foreground color to Black.
Using the Preshapes Tool....eclipse.....stroked....line width 2 antialias checked. Draw an eclipse for the hanger. See below.
Add an inner bevel with the following settings.
Move layer 1 below the merged layer.
You can add a bow by using the draw tool....freehand...stroked...width 2...color black.
Merge all layers visible. Add a drop shadow and voila!!
These plaques have alot of possibilities by changing the fabric,font and message. I've included another one I did at the bottom of this page.
