North American release date reached!!
It has finally come. The North American release date and now American and Canadian gamers can see what Europe has been playing
since November. The 22nd was the shipping date so give the stores a couple of days to get it to the shelves.

A Big Apology goes out to everyone for not getting the
page updated in a couple of weeks. Baby on the way and sometimes things can really slip the old mind.
Frogger1108 and ElectricMonk have been very busy.
Frogger1108 has updated his campaign to a total of 4 missions with enhanced AI and the missions are still growing. I have
updated the name to “New Conflicts Campaign” Download and enjoy!
ElectricMonk has released SpaceTech: Reprise. A series of missions based on a spin-off of the original Nexus story line. Check
out the manual that is included with the download. Download and enjoy!
I would also like to alert all fans that don’t visit the official forums or may have missed it that there are some really
talented people working on a B5 mod, Warhammer Gothic mod, and a couple of others. Really top notch looking stuff. Once they
go live I will get the link up ASAP.
I have also updated the fan sites so why not pop in and give a shout out to all the Nexus fans!

Updates!!
1st a big apology goes out to timetraveller. He had done a Nexus Texture Converter and I missed it big time. A total must
have for the modders.
See the modding page for the link.
Arparso’s Nexus Skirmisher is now at v.06 with a host of improvements. You can now make new multiplayer Deathmatch,
Team Deathmatch or Cooperative missions. How cool is that! DeSade's advanced AI has been incorporated into the skirmisher
and is now the default AI.
ADDITIONS:
- Added automatic recognition of mod type (singleplayer/multiplayer)
- Added ability to create multiplayer PvP missions
- Added ability to create multiplayer Coop missions
- Added “alternative locations”, a new way for selecting mission locations
- Added support for pre-defined shipname lists
- Added “Info” dialog, allowing insight into the file system of the Skirmisher
- Added “config.ini” file creation, allowing insight into the sets of data read by the Skirmisher
- Enhanced new complex AI script (thanks to DeSade)
- Revamped user interface: different settings for singleplayer/multiplayer missions
FIXES:
- Minor fix: fixed tab order of dialog elements
KNOWN ISSUES:
- the documentation is not up-to-date and lacks descriptions of all new v0.6 features
Enjoy!

Attention all Star Trek fans!!!
Darkshimmer from Digital-Underground has just released ST: Age of War (alpha 1.1). There is to be an update soon to update

Kudos goes out to all the DU team, testers, and those outside the team that have given invaluable input and helped shape missions.

Feher Hajok ships!
ElectricMonk has found a neat little egg. I will let the quote speak for itself.
"I'm not entirely sure what Feher Hajok translates into English as, probably something like "spare bits." (actually, it is
White Ships)
Anyway, here's something to release the Feher Hajok into any mission you so choose. Simply download the zip and treat it like
any other mod. Start the mission entitled 'Arena' and you'll see all the Feher Hajok ships. You can fly them around using
manual control, or let them loose on the gorg cruiser to see how they handle in combat.
These aren't any final ships, so feel free to edit the ships (either in tacticstypes.ini or by configuring them as new shiptypes
or adding different devices to each class on a mission by mission basis) to suit your purposes (if you're planning on adding
them to any missions).
Above all else, Enjoy."
Download the mod in the modding area.
Enjoy!

DeSade's AI script!!!
Desade has just released an AI script for Arparso's Skirmisher. Main features include:
1. energy management for shields and weapons
2. coherent formation movement
3. intelligent (hopefully Very Happy ) using all available weapons, including fighters and bombers (also on defence)
4. advanced multitarget acquisition, taking into consideration shield, hull, and device busting weapons.
5. proper target recognition taking into consideration critical devices, range, threat level and damage.
This script is beta release. See the MOD section for the link.

2 New missions!!!
Frogger1108 has just released his 1st mission. Come and get it while it is still fresh!!
Monty’s Survival Mission (Needs Age of War mod).
Choice of ships (defiant, or Galaxy and Akira) now at the start of the mission.
Round and level announcement.
A choice of additional Fed Ship for the last level (you'll need it).
You should be aware that the mission will fail if you do not keep the defiant/Galaxy chosen at the start alive. This will
change in next release when you simply have to keep at least one ship alive.
Both missions are found in the SP/MP page.
Enjoy!

I missed 2 of Rainman's tools!!
I have updated the MOD page to add these 2.
The 1st one is a Milkshape plugin to extract the original game models, and the 2nd is a daTool like tool, that can extract
the files in the old genesis.dat. The links can be found in the MOD section.
Thanks Rainman.

Sorry to all for the lack of updates over the past couple
of weeks. I hope everyone had a great Holiday Season and we all have a great New Year!
1) Arparso’s Nexus Skirmisher has been updated to v.05 and now hosts a number of enhancements. This is a must have for
all modders, beginners and professionals alike. See the modding section for links.
2) The Reviews page has been updated with all the reviews I can find. Due to Nexus being an international game I have sorted
the reviews by Language and I hope you find it a little easier to find what you are looking for.
3) Digital-Underground has released an Alpha state of their MOD Star Trek: Age of War. This is an early build but shows all
the dedication to make this MOD something really special. The focus has been on multiplayer but also includes a single player
aspect. DU has asked everyone to please do not host this MOD. Use the link provided as this is still an early alpha found
in the Missions page.
4) ElectricMonk has released 5 new single player missions that are well done. The missions are called SpaceTech Episodes
and the link can be found in the Missions page.
5) Rainman has figured how to increase the number of weapon slots to 10. Well done!!
That is pretty much for now and this should beep you busy for quit a while. Download and enjoy!

Digital-Underground has been working very hard on getting
the Star Trek universe up on Nexus and seems to be moving along very nicely. There main goal is MP play and are currently
working on a co-op. All I can say, what has been shown so far, is that these guys really rock!
There site does not have a specific section for Nexus yet, however you can check out what they have been working on in the
forum thread at the official Nexus site. Page 13 of the thread is looking killer.

November, 2004
Time for an update. Things have been very busy for me.
Ok ok I lied… I got the game and have been playing. Even on my lowly system the game really is a sight to behold.
On the 15th of November the official Nexus site hit the 1000 registered users and as the game gets more and more reviews,
not to mention the word of mouth by the fans, that number is bound to rise.
On the news front things have been gaining speed with some new single player missions. A big thanks goes out to them. Links
are available in the MISSION section.
elFarto has been given the oki doki to release daTool. The link is in the MOD section under tools. If you have any questions
please use this link http://nexusthegame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1182
Tutorials are here! Well, not really here but the links are. Some really really good ones too from changing the laser colors
to making solar systems. See the tutorial page for links.
Digital-Underground is working on a Star Trek MOD and it looks they have the models down pat…. Well no looks about it.
Check out this thread at the Nexus website for some example pictures. http://nexusthegame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=469&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Check out page 9 for the NX-01. All I can say is SWEET!

New preview at IGN. To quote the Steve Butts "I'm
trying really hard not to tell you just how much I enjoyed playing the early build of Nexus: The Jupiter Incident that crossed
my desk this week. The story's great, the visuals are amazing and the mechanics are simple with hidden layers of depth. Better
still it's a game about giant starships in combat with one another." Check out the Preview Area for links.
