"Purple Trees: Point of Light"

Jeff Crouch - 2007

When the sun goes down in the same place it went before,
he doesn't bother to run after it,
because he knows now it's coming back.
He looks forward to the night.
He will forget himself and just watch the parade of lights.
Someday, he may understand that if he could look through
the darkness all the way to the farthest point of light,
he would see where and how he began,
perhaps even his own consciousness.
