TRD Exhaust

 

Out of the car the differences between stock and TRD are obvious. The TRD unit is about 5-7 lbs lighter, it has big pipe in and out, rather than big pipe in and little pipe out. The TRD tip is a little large, but it looks good, and sounds even better.

One problem is the tip gets quite hot and under heavy cornering (autocross) the tip was melting the rear valence pretty badly. The last picture on this page is of a $3 Autozone exhaust hanger (bend to fit). It is installed in the car using one of the tow hook bolts and a simple hose clamp. It seems to be very secure and should eliminate the melting problems.
