Classes Offered
Folklorico Classes
Classes consist of warm-up exercises, technique of body placement, footwork, skirt movement, choreographies of different
regions of Mexico, and warm down. This is a great form of exercise, as well as, exposure to the Mexican culture.
For ages 5 and above. Parents and guardians are always welcome to participate.
Flamenco Classes
Classes stress upper body technique, hand movement, castanets, study of the different rhythms, choreographies, footwork,
lecture on the "how and why" of structure of dances, use of props, such as fans, hats, shawls. These classes are suggested
for persons who have had some form of previous dance experience.

COVINA PARK & RECREATION INTERSESSION CLASSES WILL BE HELD (FLAMENCO) NOVEMBER 27, 28 AND
30 AND JANUARY 22, 23, AND 25. (FOLKLORICO) NOVEMBER 28 AND DECEMBER 2 AND JANUARY 23 AND 27. LOCATION IS
INTERNATIONAL ARTS ACADEMY, 20628 E. ARROW HIGHWAY, # 3, COVINA, CA 91724 (626) 653-1111 (IN THE VOGUE PLAZA, BETWEEN BONNIE
COVE AND SUNFLOWER).
Registration will be taken at the studio on the first day of each new class session.
Intl. Arts Academy Class Schedule
- Classes are in eight-week sessions, which begin approximately: late January/early February, late March/early
April, late June/early July, late September/early October.
- Covina Parks & Recreation recitals take place in June and November each year.
- Classes are subject to cancellation due to the performance and rehearsal schedule of the instructor,
but will be rescheduled.

Covina Park Recreaton Hall, 340 Valencia Place, Covina, CA (between Badillo Avenue and San Bernardino
Road).
