Another Reunion???

This was another wonderful Tulln Air Base, Austria reunion!  It is becoming a "buddy" reunion for a core group of attendees who attend these reunions year after year.  There were no new Tullnites attending. There were children who came with their parents.  No guests from European countries either.

It was good to see all those friends we have made over the years at these reunions.  We look forward to seeing each other again.  It is like old home week. Of course, many Tullnites stay in contact with each other throughout the years.  For those of us who have attended many of these reunions in the past, we still hear new “war stories” and tales of those Tulln days.

All-in-all, this seems to have been one of the better reunions.  There was much to see and do in Nashville; the accommodations were very nice; the Marriott restaurant food was expensive, as usual, but it was plentiful and good. This included our banquet.

We had 77 attendees, including children (adults), at this reunion.  Karl and Shirley Bigler brought their son, Jeff.  Lois Heller brought her children, Mark and Vickie.  Edward and Jane Johnson brought their son, Mike, and his wife. Ed Karolak brought his son Garry. Henry Roell brought his daughters, Debby and Nancy. The Tulln Air Base Reunion attendees were: Attendance List.

Sadly, another 37 enlisted and 6 officers who were stationed at Tulln have passed away since our 2008 reunion in St. Louis. The names of those who passed away are: Deceased.

A few attendees were able to obtain tickets to the Saturday night “GRAND OLE OPRY” before the show became fully booked.  Others took tours of Nashville and visited the local zoo.  On Sunday night, there was a Tulln Air Base dinner show in Nashville. Most attendees went to this event.

We have now found a new Tullnite entertainment artist!  She is Edith Combs who hails from Florence, Colorado.  She plays a nice harmonica and plays music we can always sing along with.  She was the star entertainer at our banquet, and we did sing along with her music.

Horace has been having back problems, as can be seen in a photo below.  He is planning to have his back operated on during the month of October.  He wants to plan at least one more reunion---location not selected at this time.  Dick Whitford was in charge of organizing our dinner show. Good show Dick! It seems everyone had a very good time at the show.
