As you can imagine we are busy preparing for the closing of the
Equinox show on November 29, at our monthly Open Mike.
So! Don't let a little cold keep you from the Ivanhoe...

Sculpture by Joe Rufillo
Coming up next:
VVinterizer!
You may recognize the reference to Franz Shubert's song cycle for
Baritone
voice and piano.
It is his journey through the frozen solitude of winter...
We hope to explore this solstice theme as we know it and to explore it
further:
Death and Rebirth, gradual, quiet
yet occurring as if in a moment, simultaneously.
Strange that while we experience the ending, we keep
Faith in the coming of better days.
This faith is silent most of the time yet profoundly present in all
of our
days.
We lapse into moments of despair and hopelessness but we always seem to
try, try again.
It is this powerful force that drives our upcoming exhibition!
Come out to our meetings and help us chip away at this theme as we
install
this unique show at the Ivanhoe.
Experience it with us and make a collective wish for better days...
and see a special installation by
Cindy Giliberti and me, Christine A. Conforti.
Including performances by Mike DePatria on Piano,
Walter Eres on Accordion, Ankh Ujima on Percussion and ... me...
Don't miss our special guests: woodwind musician and novelist Hilary
Hawke.
Singer and Comedienne Melodie Lee with her sidekick- me... not again?
But who knows... we are preparing now and anyone with
submissions please come out to our weekly meetings to drop something
off.
Don't forget:
Weekly meetings: 7:30PM Yes! 7:30PM!
