Seegars/Lee/Wilson Family Home Page

Welcome!

I am researching my Mother's family from the Shiloh Township of Sumter County, SC.  My Seegars line came from the Buffalo Township in Kershaw County, SC.  My great, great-father, Dove Seegars, was born and reared in Chesterfield County, SC.  He was the son of John Segars and Dicey Hay.  He married Tabitha Yarbrough on December 11, 1870, in Kershaw County.  She was the daughter of Joel Yarbrough and Mary Murchison.

The picture on this page is of Dove Seegars taken in Camden, SC.  As far as I know, there is not a picture of Tabitha.  Dove and Tabitha moved to the Shiloh Township area of Sumter County sometime after 1889.  Tabitha died in 1896 and is buried at Campground Cemetery outside of Lynchburg, Lee County, SC.  After she died, Dove moved to the town of Kershaw in Lancaster County where he died in 1898.  He is buried in the Kershaw City Cemetery, Kershaw, Lancaster County, SC.

IMPORTANT STATEMENT!

Come with me now as I attempt to bring our ancestors alive.  I have gotten a lot of my information second-hand so there are mistakes.  Please contact me with any corrections.  Any updated information that has been given to me will be in my next update after the family reunion.  Please bear with me.
