GENERAL INFORMATION

Carson Christian School, established in 1983, has been one of the most successful and growing schools in the Southland.  Because of the self-motivating aspect of the curriculum and the dedication of the staff, the students have made headlines, and have graduated from High School as much as 3 years early.  It is a self-paced, individualized program, allowing for students to work at their own pace without being in competition with each other.

From kindergarten through twelfth grade, our "no fail" system facilitates true mastery of the subject material, rather than social promotions.  Emphasis is placed on Phonics in the primary levels, producing an excellent turnout of readers.  Whether gifted, average or below average, each student is able to greatly benefit from the beautifully written curriculum.  Truly there is "no child left behind" in our individualized program.

Our curriculum meets all of the CSU system's requirements and exceeds the State of California's requirements for graduation.  Many of our students have been accepted by both state and private colleges and universities.  Calif. State University at Dominguez Hills is the leader because of its close proximity to the community that we serve.  We have also had students accepted at Cal. State Long Beach, Northridge, Santa Barbara, Fresno, and USC, as well as others.

ADMINISTRATION

The administration consists of Pastor and Founder, Thomas M. Alexander, a prominent Civil Engineer who appreciates the value of a good education. Principal, Marian Alexander, BCE, has 31 years experience in Management, and 20 years in secondary, elementary, and early childhood curriculum planning. Joyce Tolbert, Assistant Principal, has served in the education field in a teaching and administrative capacity both in private and public schools, and is an excellent counselor. Both have children who have been successful in A.C.E. programs and are now in professional careers.

Mrs. Alexander and Mrs. Tolbert will assist parents with registration, and assure that policies and procedures are followed.

TUITION AND FEES

Tuition is an annual fee payable in 10 equal monthly payments due on the first day of each calendar month from September through June.  The Maximum Assistance Program (M.A.P.) is prepared to help students who are working below grade level, or have demonstrated on standardized tests that they are below the National Percentile Averages.  Extra staff persons are hired to work closely with them to provide one-on-one tutoring and supervision to assure that they stay on task.

                                  Standard Rate            Maximum Assistance Program
     Grades K-5              $395/month                        $495/month

     Grades 6-8               $425/month                        $495/month

     Grades 9-12             $475/month                        $595/month

     Sibling tuition rate     $380/month                        $435/month

Students demonstrating lack of ability to stay on task may also require the M.A.P. program, but must demonstrate satisfactory behavior before enrollment.  Parents may also elect M.A.P. for students who wish to accelerate learning with extra tutoring, if it is needed, for early graduation.

A 5% discount is given to parents who elect to pay the full years' tuition in advance.

A Registration/Student Activities fee of $450 is due once each year and is not refundable.  It will hold your child's space until school begins and also includes all student activities through the year.

There is no book fee.  After registration, students are tested for placement in the program.  Testing fee is $45 and is paid one time only.  The testing will determine whether there are any learning gaps, and if so, the student will be given a curriculum prescription to fill in each gap as a part of the academic program for the year.

Some fundraising may also be requested from parents.
