Spectators

Anyone is welcome to watch tournament matches. Simply start VASSAL, log on to the server, enter the appropriate room, and synchronize with one of the player. Please observe basic courtesy:

Do not post any messages in the chat window.
Do not move or click anything, except to open or close the player's hands palettes, the Staging palette, or the dead palette. If you want to look at the contents of a stack, hold your mouse over the stack and wait for the magnified images to appear.
Do not send Private Messages to the players. This slows play.
Do check the TeamSpeak server to see if the players are using voice communications. (see below)
Feel free to send Private Messages to other observers.

Some players like to use voice communications (VoIP: link opens in new window) while playing CC:E on VASSAL. It's often quicker to pass information by voice than by typing in the chat window. If you don't see any human-written messages in the chat window, the players are probably using voice communications.

Tim McCaron (the creator of the CC:E VASSAL module) has set up a TeamSpeak server for the tournament's use. (TeamSpeak is a VoIP program.) To listen in, you'll need to install the TeamSpeak software and connect to the tournament server. See these instructions. You won't be able to speak on a match channel.
