Listening With TeamSpeak

Please note the new server address in step IV.4!

It's easy to listen to the matches with TeamSpeak software. Well, the matches that are using voice communications, anyhow...

  1. Downloading and Installing the TeamSpeak Software
    1. Go to the TeamSpeak downloads page. (link opens in new window)
    2. Under your operating system, click Site 1 in the first row (TeamSpeak 2 Client)
    3. Go to the bottom of the page and click I Agree.
    4. Save the file to your desktop.
    5. Go to your desktop and double-click ts2_client_rc2_2032.exe.
  2. The Installation Wizards
    If you're comfortable with installation wizards, skip to section III. If you're not sure, just follow these procedures.
    1. Click Yes.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Click I accept the agreement and then click Next.
    4. To install TeamSpeak in the default folder, click Next. Otherwise, select a different folder and then click Next.
    5. To add TeamSpeak from your Start menu, click Next. Otherwise, click Don’t create a Start Menu folder and then click Next
    6. If you want to add a TeamSpeak icon to your desktop, click Next. Otherwise, clear the Create a desktop icon check box and then click Next.
    7. Click Install.
    8. Click Next.
    9. Click Next.
    10. Click Finish.
    11. Click Next.
    12. Click Finish.
  3. Testing the TeamSpeak Software
    This procedure simply checks that the TeamSpeak software is configured correctly.
    1. Turn on your speakers and plug in your microphone (if you have one), or plug in your headset.
    2. Go to the TeamSpeak "Getting Started" page and click Team Speak Public -3- under Public Test Servers. (link opens in new window)
    3. If your browser asks you to authorize a connection, do so.
      You should hear a female voice say, "Link engaged." If you do not, confirm that your speakers or headset are working. If they are, consult the TeamSpeak help files (on the Help menu, click Read Manual). If that doesn't help, go to the Forums or the FAQ on the TeamSpeak site for help. (links open in new windows)
  4. Connecting to the CC:E VASSAL Tournament's TeamSpeak Server
    1. On the Connections menu, click Connect.
    2. Right-click Servers and then click Add Server.
    3. Type CCE VASSAL in the Label box (or make up your own name for the connection) and press ENTER
    4. Copy 70.138.226.184:8767 and paste it into the Server Address box.
    5. Type a nickname for yourself in the Nickname box.
    6. Click Anonymous.
    7. Type vassal in the Server Password box. You must use all lower-case letters.
    8. Click Connect.

Listening to a Match

  1. Start TeamSpeak.
  2. On the Connections menu, click Connect.
  3. Double-click CCE VASSAL in the Servers list on the Local Addressbook tab.
  4. In the upper left pane, double-click the channel for the match. The channel name is the same as the room name on the VASSAL server.
    You won't be able to speak on a match channel.

After a Match

  1. On the Connections menu, click Disconnect.
  2. On the Connections menu, click Quit.
