this one is from the sf chronicle food section, looks like within the last few years. I've been on a happy little tear of trying out new cookie recipes, the better to amuse all of you at christmastime. these are really good and chewy. I only changed a couple things about the recipe. tell me if you try them. 1 cup granulated sugar
cream together the sugars, butter, oil and orange zest (as usual, I used a fork and it works fine). add the eggs and mix well. dump the flours on top, then the soda and salt on top of that. swirl around the dry stuff with the fork til sorta mixed, then combine the dry and wet stuff til well-mixed. stir in the chocolate chips. preheat oven to 350. drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons (oh, just get yourself a cookie scoop, it's the easiest way) on cookie sheets. bake at 350 for 10 - 12 minutes. makes about 4 dozen.
