al's fine
food, a great diner in the mission
|
al's, march 31 2005.
chef john, chef junglebook and chef cb have breakfast. chef
john shows complete satisfaction with the sight of his breakfast plate (note
steam curling from it, lower left).

chef jb waits for breakfast.
|
|
above: sausage, hashbrowns and eggs; bacon, spinach and cheddar
omelet with hashbrowns.
|
john's: corned beef hash w/ eggs and spuds.
|
chef john perfects the
seasoning on his corned beef hash. looks mighty happy, doesn't he?
this is why you should eat at al's.
far right: the wreckage from this breakfast. aren't you proud and
surprised at how much we were NOT able to eat? note john holding leftover
toast at top right.

al's, april 2, 2005. chef junglebook and chef cb have
lunch - bacon cheeseburger for cb and chicken fried steak
and eggs (hold the gravy, please) for jb. burger is fabulous (as are
the fries, and the soup that came before), not so much on the CFS w/ eggs.
however, this is the very first thing we ever ate at al's that didn't
make us want to come back and have it again.
|
|
|
wreckage after this lunch. as you can see, that CFS
apparently wasn't all that bad. why do they keep
giving us this silly cantaloupe?
