The focus here at Castle Gate is on breeding to the
standard for mane and body. Using the best lines available, it is my intent to produce quality kits in mainly COD
colors. All colors failed presentation at the 2009 ARBA Convention in San Diego. Therefore only Siamese Sable
will be allowed to present in 2010.
All of the rabbits here at Castle Gate are raised with pets,
children and love. Babies are handled daily and litter trained! This rabbitry is founded on the love and admiration
for the breed. Please feel free to browse and be sure to check back often.
Cold Weather Care: Keep in mind if your bunnies
cannot drink, they will not eat and will not be able to maintain their body temperature. Therefore it is important to monitor the
water supply for freezing. Remember, if using bottles, the drinking tube freezes before the bottle itself. You can offer
warm water a couple times a day, contrary to old wives tale warm water does not freeze faster than cold and your outside bunnies
will appreciate something warm in their belly. You can also add Old Fashioned Oatmeal to their diet for extra calories
to keep them warm. Be sure to put fresh straw in the outside hutches.
