2009 Enterprise-C CG Model

This is the Ambassador-Class Enterprise-C from the Next Generation episode "Yesterday's Enterprise." The model used in the episode made one and only one appearance on screen in this form; soon after, it was modified for appearances on Deep Space Nine as the Yamaguchi and other ships.

The model took me about four months to build. I resisted the temptation to add the familiar "Aztec" hull plate patterns and self-lighting effects seen on movie-era ships; neither of these were present on the original model, a "ship-of-the-week," rather than a major "character" ship like the Galaxy-class. The model has tons of bevel-and-caulk effects, all done by hand. Even at 1280 pixels wide, these effects really don't show up except in the most extreme closeups.
