Setting: The outstanding feature of this executive home is its location: adjacent to the almost 5,000 acres of Annadel State
Park, http://www.parks.sonoma.net/annadel.html, in a private development. The park's 35
miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking are accessible through a back park entrance an easy, short
(less than 5 minute) walk from the house. The park’s terrain includes rolling hills, intermittent streams, meadows,
and woodland, unmarred by modern intrusions. The park includes the best example of northern oak woodlands in existence, which
is the setting for this executive home. The acre hilltop property has scenic views of the “Valley of the Moon”,
Sonoma
Mountain and the Mayacamas range and wineries.
The Home: This very private 3-bedroom,
2.5 bath home is 2,500 square feet on 1 mostly flat acre. The ground level is wheelchair accessible, as are all the living
spaces on the ground floor - Master suite, living/family rooms, kitchen, dining room and outside deck. The Master bedroom
suite has a whirlpool tub, dual head shower, and separate toilet and bidet. A guest half-bath is also downstairs. There are
two bedrooms with views upstairs that share a full bathroom with two sinks and a shower. Next to the kitchen overlooking the
enclosed garden is an eating nook that seats 6. The kitchen is open to the dining and living rooms. The decor is elegant
and comfortable. A back deck provides views of the valley below and hills beyond.
Location:
Located about 5 miles east of Santa Rosa off of state Highway 12, just before the quaint town of Kenwood. It is in the gated
community of Wild Oak above an "active adult" development called Oakmont, on the "backside" of Annadel State Park. Wild Oak
is private and rural, with custom homes and undergrounded utilities, while Oakmont provides convenient amenities: two championship
public golf courses, a bank, small store, exercise facility, medical offices, an Saturday morning farmer's market and a terrific
Mexican seafood restaurant. There is also a horse/polo club in the development that holds equestrian events. Across Highway
12 and adjacent to the development along Highway 12 are many wonderful Sonoma county wineries. The town of Kenwood (2 miles)
has some terrific restaurants, on your way to the town of Sonoma's square, 10 miles further east.
Fees: Rent is $2,750/month. The house
is optionally available fully furnished for $3,250/month. First month's rent and $4,125 ($4,875 if rented furnished) security
deposit required without pets. Pets considered on a case by case basis with additional security deposit. Available by appointment
