The County Attorney both defends the county in lawsuits and sues on behalf
of the county. The County Attorney's office is also responsible for representing its officials in civil matters. Daily
activities include preparation and/or review of contracts entered into by the county; conducts legal research; prosecutes on
behalf of Children's Protective Service; represents the county and its officials in civil matters; and acts
as advisor to county officials, department heads, and employees. Additional duties include handeling of environmental
issues, bail bond forfiture and drainage district improvement collections.
Based on my 17 years experience and background, I am the most qualified for this position.
I have both sued and defended in civil matters, prepared and reviewed contracts, conducted legal research, appealed cases,
worked with both the County Attorney's employees and the District Attorney's employees, represented bail bond companies and
forfitures, and worked in both state and federal court.
As past President of the Fort Bend Exchange Club, I effectively worked with the board and
over 50 members. While I was in office, our main fundraiser was The Great American Duck Race which is now held
at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds during the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo. The profits from the race are given
to the Fair Committee for youth scholarships.
As your County Attorney, I will effectively and efficently run the department so as to save the tax
payers money.
