Special Notice
The instructor of the Kumon center, Ms. Mai, has been very generous to allow our club to operate
in her center. She has a special request from all of our members:
Please do not touch or misplace, or remove any Kumon, or related articles from the center.
Location and Time
The Carolina Chess Club is held in the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Charlotte-Southwest located at:
11116-C S. Tryon St.
Charlotte, NC 28273
The center is located inside the Yorkridge Shopping Center.
The club will meet at 6:30pm each Saturday.

Game Formats
The club will have 5-Swiss rounds for each tournament. One round per week. There will be 3 sections.
-
Open: 1800 and higher.
-
Mid: 1300-1799.
- Lower: 1299 and below.
Time control for all sections, except scholastic, will be G120.
Players will compete for cash prizes. Top 3 positions from each sections will be awarded from the prize funds
as follow:
- 1st - 55%
- 2nd - 30%
- 3rd - 15%

Dues and Fees
Yearly membership is $10.
The membership dues will be used to host chess related lectures. These lectures
will be free to members, $5 for non-members. The dues will be also used for special events like end-of-year award party,
etc.
Entry fee is $3.00 for each round, $2 will goes to the prize fund and $1 goes to general club maintenance
fund.
A Cover charge of $1.00 for all non-members to play pick-up games.
