Silvertree Jewelry and Glass

I have three shops online. My Ruby Lane shop is at rubylane.com/shops/silvertree. This is my exculsive site for jewelry over $20. Ruby Lane does not allow artisan jewelry under $20 to be sold on their site.

I have a shop on Etsy called CarolsCreations, the address is etsy.com/carolscreations. In this shop I sell my jewelry which is priced at less than $20, as well as dichroic glass cabochons and jewelry supplies.

My third shop, CE Sales, is on eBay http://stores.ebay.com/ce-sales-jewelry-and-glass. Right now I have a line of stone beads earrings on eBay, and glass clocks made from flattened bottles.

I am Carol Elmore, the designer, crafter, and owner of Silvertree. All of my creations are individually handmade. All the items shown are available for sale.

I started making jewelry for sale 40 years ago. At first, I made sterling silver jewelry, most of which was sold in small stores in Colorado. Now I am making larger, more colorful things.

My current line is made from a variety of materials. These include kiln-fused dichroic glass, gemstones, sterling silver, 14Kt GF, vermeil, assorted beads, and found objects.

I have taken advantage of a variety of education opportunities over time. I studied ceramics, jewelry and liberal arts at several schools. Later, I enrolled in Gemological Institute of America Home Study Gemology courses. I hold Certificates in Colored Stones, Gem Identification, and Diamonds. Years later, I got an Associates Degree in Accounting, and worked as an accountant for a while. Most recently, I taught myself how to work with kiln-fused glass, and fell in love with dichroic glass.

Kiln-forming Glass. The glass pieces are first cut to size, and then fused together in the kiln to make a single flat piece of colorful glass. Next, the glass is placed into or over a mold and heated in the kiln until it sags or slumps and comforms to the shape of the mold. Either of these processes may be repeated several times to achieve the desired results.

"Dichroic" means two colors

In one lighting these earrings are blue on the bottom.

From another angle the light makes the bottom look gold.
