Feliciano Hurtado was named on the order granting the petition for the San Miguel de Laredo Carnue Land Grant in 1763. [NMLG Records, SG Case 150, NMSRC Reel 27] He also testified as an eyewitness during the 1768 investigation concerning stolen cattle in Carnuel and was described as a resident of Carnuel and a "coyote". He gave his age as more than 40 years old which would make his date of birth at least 1728. [SANM II 1767-1779 Reel 10, Frames #405-445, Twitchell #636, LDS microfilm reel number 0581468]

Pheliciano Hurtado, "castizo" married Barbara Gonzalez, mulato, both single, on Dec 3, 1744 [AM NMG XXI:3 p. 55]

Page 74 of the 1750 Census at Albuquerque indicates the following: Feliciano Hurtado, 30 years old, Coyote, (DOB 1720) and Barbara, Spanish, 20 years old, (DOB 1730), and one son, Phelipe 4 years old (DOB 1746), and Maria, an Indian servant of 19 years.

In the DM record of Juan Joseph de Ribera who married Maria Antonia Lopes, Feliciano Hurtado, 34 years old (DOB 1733) is described as "of S. Miguel de Laredo who knew the bride in El Parral". Another witness,Felix Caporal, 35 years old, is described as having come "from Parral with the groom and Feliciano Hurtado". The groom is described as "native of La Villa de Sta Barbara, S. Jose del Parral". [DM no. 16, Jan 8, 1767, Albuquerque]

On May 8, 1780 died: Joseph Franco de edad de 20 anos cassado con Maria Candelaria; a Joseph Antonio de edad de 10 anos; a Barbara Garcia y Maria Urtado casada que fue con Felisiano Urtado. [LDS 016645 Albuq. Deaths]

Feliciano Hurtado and Barbara Gonzalez had the following children:

1..... PHELIPE HURTADO b. 1746 [1750 Census p. 74] (Felipe Hurtado married Antonia Candelaria. If not the son Felipe, then the following child would be of Feliciano Hurtado and a second wife after the death of his first wife, Barbara Gonzalez.)

Dreesen notes that the Felipe Hurtado who married Antonia Candelaria lived in Carnue.

Juan Antonio de Jesus Hurtado de Mendoza, espanol, originario de puesto de la Alameda en la Provincia de Nuebo Mexico, hijo legitimo de legitimo matrimonio de Feliciano (Hurtado) de Mendoza y de Barbara Gonzales, con JOSEFA GRIEGO, nativa de este pueblo, viuda de Jose Maria Medina, hija de Cristobal Griego y Faviana Altanacia Martinez, on 21 Jan 1790.
