Objective:
To create artistic portraits of people in the visual and performance arts thereby fostering and promoting a greater understanding and appreciation of the role the arts play as an integral element of peace and harmony in our multiethnic world.

Masters Program UCLA Latin American Studies combining Cultural Anthropology & Visual/Performance Arts. Received research grant to study Egungun, Nigerian Ancestor Worship in Bahia, Brasil. |

| 1983-1987 | At age 20 received Bachelor of Arts from UCLA in World Arts and Cultures, with emphasis in Music and Spanish. 6 months at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico studing Cultural History as part of UCLA's Pilot Program through the Dept of Spanish and Portuguese. |

Experience:
| In 1987 Carla spent 6 months as a guest of the Nicaraquan Ministry of Culture as Artist in residence. Upon returning to the United States she worked as a translater for various cultural events (Spanish and Portugese). Carla also coordinated several art auctions and learned through experiance the art of Gallery Management. |
| Since 1992 Carla's photography has been published in prestigious academic journals and magazines including Rap Pages, VIBE and Urb to name a few. Carla's work has been displayd in numerous local venues in Los Angeles, including solo exhibitions at Galerie Lakaye, Cava Gallery, and Aklia’s One of a Kind Boutique and Gallery. Her work can be seen on the cover of The Pharcyde’s “She Said”, Tre Hardson's (of The Pharcyde) release “The Legend of Phoenix”, Tre's upcoming CD and both Bhagavan Das' and Krishna Das' newly released CDs. Carla’s live music photography can be viewed at numerous sites on the web. |
