Welcome to the Reel Music Homepage!

My name is Jim Melton.  I am a USCG Licensed Captain.  I have been fishing since I could pick up a fishing rod and I finally decided to do it for a living.  I enjoy catching fish, but I honestly believe I enjoy  someone else catching that "fish of a lifetime" even more.  Few things get your heart pumping like the sound of line screaming off of a reel.  To me, that sound is "Reel Music".

This is my office

The Outer Banks of North Carolina. Which offers some of the best Near Shore fishing in the world.  Whether chasing thirty pound Stripers in November and December, or chumming for HEAVYWEIGHT Cobia in May and June, there is always a shot at a World Class fish.  Red Drum are abundant throughout most of the year if you know their habits.  The summer months bring Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish and the ever popular Flounder.  I personally like the "seasonal" fishing; Cobia, Striper, Red Drum and Spanish Mackerel.

Neill got on the boat and said "I am a self admitted 'Barney', I know very little about fishing. Especially in the ocean." Well it wasn't but about five minutes into fishing before he hooked his first Striper. He didn't get it to the boat, but he did get this one.  His first Striper and his biggest fish ever!  Pretty work Neill!

Notice the fog in the background.  We had to cut our trip short because the fog got so bad.  Reports from the surf that afternoon,  over 50 Stripers caught throwing metal at the Inlet!
