As the rest of my site is pretty structured, I've decided that this little corner of it could take on more of an "anything goes" kind of feel. Everyone needs a little freedom, right?
Guess I could start out by telling you a little bit about myself. I'm a college senior who will (hopefully!) be graduating in Spring of 2001 with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a minor in History. Then I'll return to college as a graduate student, where I'll earn a Master's Degree in Education. I hope to go on to teaching English Literature at the high school level.
I currently work part-time at a bookstore, and I love every minute of it. Working there feeds my reading habit and keeps me out of trouble. :) I guess I'm one of those lucky people who actually looks forward to going to work. I work with great people, and I'm surrounded by books! What more could a person ask for?
In my spare time (I do manage a second here and there...) I like to read, write fanfic, pamper my car, and work with my computer. Favorite authors are Nora Roberts, LaVyrle Spencer, Judith McNaught, J.A. Jance, Peter David, Earl Emerson, G.M. Ford, and Ridley Pearson, though I'll read anyone at least once, especially Seattle mystery writers. John J. Nance, Pat Conroy, and William Martin are excellent, as well.
I devour anything Star Trek. My favorite series are TNG and Voyager. I do watch other things occasionally, however. I'll watch any movie with Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, or Pierce Brosnan. And I'll go on the record right now by saying, rather proudly, that not only have I never watched "Titanic", I've also never seen a "Star Wars" movie. I also collect all of the Disney animated movies. Favorite Disney character is Tigger, of course, as well as Marvin the Martian from the world of Warner Bros.!
I love sports. Basketball and baseball are the ultimate in sporting pleasure. I love to play and watch both sports, and I'm a devout fan of the Seattle Sonics and the Seattle Mariners. Gary Payton is a joy to watch up and down the court, and Edgar Martinez never ceases to amaze me with his tremendous skills and consummate professionalism.
My favorite music is country, and I never go very far away from a radio or CD player. Reba McEntire and George Strait are, or course, the best. But Garth Brooks ranks right up there, as well. Alabama is what other groups aspire to be. These people are my all-time favorites, but others deserve mention, as well. Diamond Rio, Brooks and Dunn, Shania Twain, Sammy Kershaw, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dixie Chicks, Trisha Yearwood, Collin Raye, Rascal Flatts... The list goes on and on...
