"Gift Planning in the 21st Century"
 
     ~ Our thanks go to Cynthia W. Krause, JD, Baylor Health Care System Foundation, Dallas, for an exceptional seminar on planned giving
     ~ We appreciate Cheryl Whited of Frost Financial Management Group, and Kent Williams of the Coastal Bend Community Foundation, who came to speak during lunch about the work of their respective organizations
     ~ Special thanks go to Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd for serving as the venue for the seminar, and South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind for producing our workshop notebooks.  We enjoyed a delicious lunch and snacks provided Water Street and Agua Java, and appreciate their participation as well!

~ This event was held at the InterContinental Presidente in Mexico City, was designed for Latin Americans, and was open to fundraisers across North America

"Winning Gifts:  Make Your Donors Feel Like Winners"
 
~ Celebrated author Thomas D. Wilson of Campbell & Company made a brief stop in Corpus Christi to discuss his new book, "Winning Gifts."  The book is part of the Fund Development Series of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
~ Our thanks go to Tom for taking the time to be with us, and to IBC Bank for serving as the venue for this successful lecture and book-signing opportunity!

"CFRE Review Course"
 
~ For those interested in obtaining formal certification, the CFRE Review Course focuses on the main components of a complete fundraising program.  This intensive, two-day seminar provides intermediate-level fundraisers with an overview of fundraising skills and techniques, in preparation for the CFRE examination
~ This year's seminar was held at the Arlington Convention Center, Arlington, Texas.  Be watching this website for information about next year's program!

~ Fundraising ethics is a hot topic these days with coverage crowding the airways and print media.  This workshop will address questions regarding finders' fees and commissions, gift acceptance policies, standards of professional practice, and complaint and enforcement processes

~ Receive an overview of the fundraising profession.  Learn the fundamentals of the development function.  Network with other fundraising professionals.  There will be opportunities for direct interaction with experienced faculty, and presentations by experts in the field
~ AFP's "First Course in Fundraising" is designed for those entering the profesion, trustees or development committee members, volunteer leaders, CEOs of non-profit organizations and development support staff

"Grant Writing Seminar"
 
~ Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's Office of Research Development is hosting a grant writing seminar featuring David Morrison of Grant Writers' Seminars and Workshops, LLC.  Participants will learn to write successful proposals to federal agencies and private foundations 
~ Cost for attending is $84 per person, which includes two books, breakfast and lunch.  The event will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Science and Technology Building (Room 106) on campus
