A reunion of VP-23 personnel who served in the squadron from 1951 through 1955 (plus a few welcome participants from later years) was conducted at the Bay Beach Inn in Pensacola (Gulf Breeze), Florida, and by all accounts was the most successful such event to date. This was due primarily to the efforts of the organizers; Jack Martin, Elmer Wilcox, and Art (Koko) Koelsch. Others who contributed were Eldon McDonald, Butch Brillhart, Jack Malone, Tony Sapuppo (Dominic’s son), and Yr. Obt. Svt., Billy Rawl. Of course none of it would have been possible without the attendance of about 30 squadron members and their wives/significant others. These pages will present pictures shot by the proprietor of this site and various others during the course of this event.

Before embarking on your journey through our adventure, please be advised that there are lots of color photographs on these pages. Your host has endeavored to keep file sizes as low as practicable, but some pages may take a few extra seconds to load, especially if it’s a “slow internet day” or you have something less than a 56K modem.

Enjoy the trip, and please send your questions, comments, suggestions, hate mail, etc. to Billy
