Here are the details of another aircraft loss:


VP23 sent a detachment from Halfar, Malta to Aviano, Italy for SAR.  While on mission, flying a relatively low altitude the pilot flew LJ-11 into a box canyon and could not climb or turn out resulting in the aircraft crashing into the side of a mountain.  There was only one survivor, Gene Forsyth, AD3. The remaining crew all perished and are listed below.
