RESCUE AT SEA!
(Pictures contributed by Dave Kass)

As most of us will recall, a VP-23 P2V ditched off Long Island in 1954. The whole crew was saved with minor injuries to some, reportedly the first case of a P2V ditching without loss of life. This photo shows the rescue crew standing in the background with the P2Vcrew squatting and sitting in front. Your host cannot help but point out that the rescue was accomplished by an Air Force crew (flying a seaplane already!).
