Lorinda Camparo is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Whittier College where she has been a member of the faculty since
1997. Her research interests include the efficacy of techniques for interviewing children, and the development of prejudice
and stereotypes in children and adolescents. Dr. Camparo has published her work in a wide range of journals, and she and
her students have presented their research nationally and internationally.
Dr. Camparo is a member of the Executive Committee for the American Psychological Association's division of Child, Youth,
and Family Services, and is currently serving a second three-year appointment as editor of the division's quarterly newsletter:
The Child, Youth, and Family Services Advocate. As a child development expert, Dr. Camparo has been interviewed for "World
News Tonight" and "Good Morning America."
In her spare time, Dr. Camparo enjoys playing her violin, acting in annual productions of "The Nutcracker,"
going to the theater and movies, and doing just about anything with her two grown daughters and husband of 25 years.
