2008 Dental Study
CTWHH was honored in recruiting patients for this study. Potential patients are notified directly by CTWHH. It will be their decision to contact the study Coordinator if they are interesting in participating in the study.
The study opened May 21, 2008
Closed June 6, 2008
Dr. Tiffany Simmons, DMD, of the University of Nevada School of Medicine, made available a questionnaire for CADASIL patients. Dr. Simmons had a new patient who was diagnosed with CADASIL and her patient felt there might be dental implications with the disease. Dr. Simmons knew little about CADASIL and felt the research would provide her with an opportunity to learn more. This CADASIL Dental Study was placed solely online by CTWHH due to the short time frame provided by Dr. Simmons as well as to reach out more possible participants since the study was only open from May 21-June 6, 2008. To view the questionnaire, follow this link: http://home.earthlink.net/~cadasilfoundation/dental/ . As of October 13, 2011, no results of this study have been forwarded to CTWHH.
To whom it may concern, My name is Tiffany Simmons. I am a dentist, currently doing a general practice residency in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have a new patient who was recently diagnosed with CADASIL. As part of my requirements here I need to do research on a topic of interest. I know very little about this disease so I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn more. My patient believes that there are dental implications with this disease. She says that she noticed problems with her teeth since she has been diagnosed with CADASIL. I am looking for information, either research or patient reports of any dental related issues with the disease. I can be reached at (xxx) xxx-5108 or at xxx. This would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, Tiffany Simmons, DMD
