Political Announcement
Bronx: The Daily News is doing  an enormous disservice to the citizens of this city by continuing to ignore the Green Party. The Green Party has been growing. We're not going away. Ignoring  us and our efforts to strengthen democracy, fight for a healthy environment, seek justice for all and promote non-violence will not lessen our resolve.

Dear Editor,
The Daily News is doing a huge disservice to itself and an enormous disservice to the citizens of this city by continuing to ignore the Green Party. You are not portraying the news accurately when you fail to report the role of the Green Party in certain stories. This is particularly annoying in your modest coverage of the Ohio recount. I have not read an article in your paper yet that credits Green Party Presidential candidate David Cobb (in conjunction with Libertarian candidate Michael Badnarik) for inititating this effort. If it wasn't for Juan Gonzalez reporting it in his column, there would be no mention of it at all. And, I have seen nothing written about the Board of Elections failure to count write in votes for Cobb in this past election. The BOE says that no one voted for Cobb in New York City. Well, they're wrong. I did, as well as many other Greens  in New York. Aren't you the least bit curious as to what's going on here?

There are a number of extremely important issues at stake, the least of which is the integrity of our voting system. The failure on the part of your paper to give credit where it is due - to those seeking to uphold basic, cherished  American principles - just serves to reinforce the growing notion that an independent press no longer exists and that truth is best kept under wraps.

The Green Party is growing; has been growing. We're not going away. Ignoring  us and our efforts to strengthen democracy, fight for a healthy environment, seek justice for all and promote non-violence will not lessen our resolve. You may not agree with us. That's your right. Giving readers the opportunity to agree or disagree with us is your responsibility.

Sincerely,
Carl Lundgren
