Eye of Horus
original cross-stitch design

ancient Egyptian symbol
of health and wholeness

This pattern is 292 x 187 stitches, which is roughly
13.3 x 8.5 inches on 22.0 holes per inch.

The Eye of Horus pattern is quite large (which is why the cross stitches don't show in the image above - it would take forever to load!  But here is a little piece of it, to give you a better idea of the pattern. The scale of this image is larger than the  actual work would  be, but it has to be larger in order to show the stitches in the image.     I've used colored symbols, and the last page of my pattern has a thread guide,   which  includes estimated usage of thread,

how many strands to use, etc.  If you can't get the same brand or exactly the same colors, just try using something similar. The thread guide can help you choose appropriate colors. I used a tan aida cloth to make it look a bit like a papyrus scroll, but you might like a different color.

Instructions for downloading the pattern:

My pattern is Copyright - you may download it, save it, print it and use it for non-commercial purposes If you want to distribute it - ask me!  Any  handmade cross-stitch item you make from the pattern  is yours to do with as you wish (including selling it). Enjoy!

I make my cross stitch patterns with X-Stitch Studio by Ursa Software.  It's an excellent program, and they even offer a free demo for you to download and try out. The demo version also allows  you to print charts made with Ursa X-Stitch that you download, so here is my  chart file  for the pattern  Eye of Horus to use with it in case you want to try it out.

Most computers have Acrobat Reader or Adobe Reader, so you can click this link for the   Eye of Horus  (58kb)

Sometimes the Reader may be a little slow to start, but in case it doesn't read automatically at all, you can right -click  the above link (lefties do it your way) and  'save target as...' or 'save link target as...' (depending on your browser).  It will most likely save to your  Downloads folder. You can then open it in  your Acrobat (Adobe) Reader. I have been able to open it with v.4, 5 and 6 ... so whatever version you have should work.
