Bundy Guitars, 1996
This is my son Nelson napping on the couch next to my Carvin guitars. The V220 was my main workhorse, and the DC200 Koa
was a beautiful piece of work I'd found in a local newspaper---for an astounding price. I made two minor modifications to
this guitar (incidentally, all the Carvins I own or have ever owned are so damn good they remain mostly stock.): removal of
brass nut and replaced it with a graphite one, and changed the tuners to Sperzels. The tone of this Koa Carvin was very warm
and well-rounded, and suitable for playing all types of music.

Here is a picture of the same Carvin V220 ten years earlier in 1986---fresh
off the UPS truck. It was standard clear maple, but note some characteristic knots and bird's eyes in the body's wood. Someday
I will find another to replace it.....
