As we enter a new fall/winter season, we would like to thank all our customers for their continued
business at Bubbles and cordially welcome "newbies" to our store.
Our long-time customers know that Bubbles is a
dynamic
facility, consistently bringing you the newest designs in equipment the
industry has to offer. So yet again, as we head into our 14th year,
you will begin to see some exciting changes in our equipment.
Laundry patrons know from experience that it takes longer
to dry than to wash a load of clothes. On average, washers run for 30 minutes.
However, that same load of clothes will take about 45 minutes (or longer!) to
dry.
In the past, a very few laundry
facilities -- like Bubbles --
have always relied on freestanding extractors as an intermediate step to help
our time-and-cost-conscious customers speed through the dryers. Unfortunately,
the availability of extractors in the self-service laundry industry has diminished
dramatically over the years.
Because
of this, I have been keeping a close eye on
recent stunning innovations in commercial washers. My goal has been to find
well-designed, easy to use front-load washers that not only give my patrons a
superior wash and rinse, but also have a final extraction spin that would come
close to the spinout in a freestanding extractor.
While no standard washing machine can possibly spin as
fast as an extractor without shaking itself to pieces, the equipment
manufacturers have been trying to develop special front-load washers that
double – or even triple -- standard washer spin-speeds.
As with every attempt to safely improve existing
technology, this has taken years to develop. And while some manufacturers have had success in this field,
others have failed to effectively “get with the program”. So, yes, it is
important for me to take the time to choose wisely on behalf of my customers.
I believe I have finally found a new line of high-spin
washers suitable for Bubbles. The manufacturer claims their machines can
cut your drying time by over 30%.
As
with our previous retrofit projects, I will make the
change to new washers a little at a time. The first washers to be changed out
will be the 22 double-loaders. If luck holds, these machines will be installed by the middle of November at the latest.
Of course, I will rely on customer feedback before
deciding whether I should
continue with this particular brand of machines.
So stay tuned... drop in... see what's new... have a chat. We're here when you need us.
