Sunday - 23rd January 2005: A dermatologist in the city of Thirsted does not hesitate to call the cream that contains Vitamin A a miracle. A new Danish skin cream that is completely without known side effects has, in practice, been shown to be able to remove pre stages of skin cancer, making the skin look younger, prevent pimples, and soothe and diminish chronic eczemas.

It sounds almost too good to be true but according to the experience gained by dermatologist Uffe Gjede from Thisted this is the absolute truth.

He said "In my daily work I see many patients with skin cancer and pre stages of skin cancer. Some of my patients are so tormented. They visit the clinic for treatment every couple of months and each time they return they can have 5-6 new pre-stages of skin cancer. But after they have begun to apply this new skin cream then they have none or maybe just a single pre-stage cancer when they return for consultation, and when I examine their skin with a scanner then one can clearly see that the skin has changed. Their skin previously was thin and sensitive and it has now grown thicker and more robust", said Uffe Gjede.

When the pre stages of skin cancer has developed into genuine cancer the cream cannot remove the cancer cells but the mere fact that the skin cream can block the formation of new pre-stages of skin cancer and thereby prevent the patients developing skin cancer is outstanding concludes Uffe Gjede.

The skin cream that Uffe Gjede is so enthusiastic about is manufactured by the company Beauté Pacifique in Hadsund and is named Beauté Pacifique Metamorphic (Vitamin A Anti-Wrinkle Crème).

"I think it is fantastic that a small Danish company can develop and manufacture such a skin cream. The other day I had a visitor, a Professor from Seoul, and I showed him my scanning images of skin cancer patients before and after that they had used the cream and he agreed with me that such results are unique. When one contemplates that we, in the entire western world experience a true explosion in the number of skin cancer cases because during the last 50 years it has become fashionable to have a suntan, this is an invention having very large perspectives. Just think about Australia and New Zeeland where the sun exposure is so violent that skin cancer has become endemic.

Vitamin A decision essential
It was quite accidental that Gjede discovered the great effect of this new cream from Hadsund. The cream is namely developed as an anti ageing cream and skin care product but not as a real drug and it can be purchased in cosmetic stores, drug stores and pharmacists and the like.

"I did not expect that this cream would have such an effect and I don't think either that other dermatologists would do so. When I began to prescribe it to skin cancer patients it was because patients with skin cancer typically have worn down and very thin skin that needs ordinary skin care. Gjede further explains: This is why I have been experimenting a little by prescribing different skin care creams for these patients to make their skin slightly better, but I had no expectations that the creams would also have an effect on the development of skin cancer".

But a little less than a year ago he began to treat the first skin cancer patients with the cream from Hadsund. "During the next 4-5 months I saw a surprising and very clear change in these patients. When they treated themselves with the cream they got almost no new pre stages of skin cancer. During the last 6 months I have therefore used the cream as medicine and hereby gained security that the early stages of skin cancer can disappear and that the skin cream can block the development of new pre stages of skin cancer. This blocking is not total so there is no guarantee that one will not develop a skin cancer but the tendency to develop skin cancer is reduced very markedly by the new cream" says Uffe Gjede, who during the previous 12 months has treated more than 100 skin cancer patients with the cream from Hadsund. "I would like to emphasise that I have no economical interest in Beauté Pacifique but when one discovers such great affects it is ones duty to make the public aware. I have my practice to take care of with many patients every day so I do not have the time available to initiate a major research academic study but the dermatologists in the University Hospital ought to begin research into the creams medicinal effects so we can get precise documentation on how exactly the cream works" says Uffe Gjede. Although it is not yet explained in detail how the skin cream functions Uffe Gjede leaves no doubt that it is the cream's contents of Vitamin A that is the determining factor. It is well known that Vitamin A has an effect on skin cancers and Vitamin A has for this reason for many years been used in the treatment of skin cancer. This has partly been in the form of tablets where some patients, that are severely attacked by skin cancer, begin being treated with Vitamin A in large doses but this treatment has such severe side effects that it is common that the patients have to give up this treatment. We also know already today that skin creams containing Vitamin A Acid also have a preventative effect against skin cancer but they have side effects and according to my experience not at all efficient compared with the new skin cream from Hadsund. Here you find the Vitamin A in a different chemical form which is Vitamin A Ester. This is probably the determining difference. In addition to this, Vitamin A in other forms, other than Ester, is fragile and it is very difficult to make a cream base that completely maintains the Vitamin A level but this has been achieved by the company in Hadsund and that is also of major importance says Uffe Gjede.

Besides the fact that Vitamin A cream from Hadsund can prevent the development of skin cancer the cream also provides other beneficial results, "It is originally an anti wrinkle cream and my experience is that it has a good effect against wrinkles coming from ageing and wrinkles caused by two much sun but not against mimical furrows (frown lines and crows feet). In addition to this, the cream, based on its contents for Vitamin A, works in such a way that it makes chronically damaged skin regenerate itself to become more normal.

It also protects against the development of wrinkles or pimples and has good effect on some chronic eczema. There is no effect on acute skin damage here. You may even risk the skin becoming aggravated, so one should not use the cream on acute redness of the skin. The positive effects of this skin cream are so large that everybody in the skin clinic has taken it into their daily regime. It is used as a night cream and one shall only apply with a very thin layer says Uffe Gjede. Also in the dermatology department of Aarhus University there are many employees who used the skin cream from Hadsund every day. Because while it is a random miracle (lucky strike) that the cream works as a preventative against skin cancer, it is a very intentional result of a focused development process, that the cream works against wrinkles and is so good as a skin care cream. Here at Aarhus University Hospital we have tested Beauté Pacifique Crème Métamorphique scientifically so it is the only anti wrinkle cream in the world which has scientifically documented effects against wrinkles, says research professor Peter Bjerring, who is an internationally recognised dermatologist. That the Vitamin A cream from Hadsund can prevent skin cancer is at first surprising to him but then again no surprise at all. "It is a very interesting observation what Uffe Gjede has done here. When you reflect on the creams ingredients and especially its contents of Vitamin A one can very well imagine that it can work preventably against skin cancer since creams with Vitamin A also work against skin cancer" says Peter Bjerring.

39 year old Inge Riis Thisted is one of over 100 patients that Uffe Gjede has treated with this new skin cream from Hadsund. Like most other skin cancer patients it is mainly her face and hands that have been mostly exposed to sun rays and therefore has been attacked. "During the last 4 years I have often seen Uffe Gjede for treatments when he has scraped away and frozen pre stages of skin cancer. But after being treated in October I began to use the new cream and my facial skin has become much better and I have not at all developed more new pre stages of cancer in my face" tells Inge Riis. It can be both seen and measured on the scanner that her facial skin is no longer so thin and fragile but has become thicker and healthier after she has used the new skin cream during the last months. "To me it has been fantastic to use this new skin care. I have previously used another cream containing Vitamin A Acid but it gave me stinging in the skin and could not prevent me from developing new pre stages of cancer which I then had to have removed" tells Inge Riis. "With the new cream I experienced no side effects and it has completely prevented the development of new pre stages of skin cancer in the face" she says.
